The island Brac is the largest island of the central Dalmatia and one of the easiest to get to.
It very attractive island with pretty waterside towns and villages. Island Brac is covered by woods of pines, lives, figs, vineyards, but most famous is for his marble.
Many buildings in the world have been built by this white stone: white house in Washington DC, (17oo years old) and famous Diocletian palace in Split, as many amphitheaters, temples palaces and simple houses all over Dalmatia.
One of the most beautiful pebble beaches the Zlatni Rat (Golden cape) has stretched Brac into the sea towards the south with its 500 m long, and is the only natural beach in the world formed vertically to the coast and changes its shape according to the wind.
The place of the special interest is also the old relatively inhospitable monastery at Blaca, from 16th century, built in stone and partly cut in the rock.
